You've probably all heard about the controversey about Marisol. I do have her, plus her duffel and cat. It was on every Chicago local news cast the other day(either Tues and Wed) and I was very surprised to see it on ABC World News Tonight! It was also in both the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times(I have the Sun-Times and plan to keep the article), and they even have a pic of her on the cover! By the way, I grew up in Des Plaines so when I saw it in the book I had to get the doll right away! The people in the Pilsen area of the city are so hung up on just a couple of sentences in the book, what about all the stuff about how Marisol loves her neighborhood? BTW, the reason why they picked Des plaines for her to move is that it has a 17% Hispanic population. But we all know that stirring up any kind of controversey on something like this will only cause more people to want Marisol and her stuff. What do you all think?
